Bittersweet Emotions: inspiration, confusion, struggle and creativity
Baukje Spaltro will give a talk about aspects of her work that relate to the dynamics between art and therapy. She is a contemporary Dutch-Italian painter and works in series. Her works is focused on the theme of the panorama. The hard, the soft or the own created panorama, the sphere. The panorama of the human world: as city, as nature or a personal place, an atmosphere. Her works shows inner- and outer world perceptions. These worlds causes often confusion. Through painting she gives these worlds a place on the canvases, by painting she defines them. The Panorama as coloured abstraction of the own perceived reality and showed by figuration.
Besides painting she created a tool for groups to encourage the creating proces. She developed the CO-CREATION methodic, a way for groups to create together a own identity in the form of an art installation. With this methodic she made several installations, like the art installation Bittersweet Emotions. Commissioned by INFORSA and made with clients of this psychiatric clinic.
After a short introduction about her work she will show a short film and talk about her project 'Bittersweet Emotions'.
